I do! And I just finished reading Debbie Wiener’s SLOB PROOF: Real-Life Design Solutions

While I still have slobs to contend with, I now feel like I have a better plan on how to keep my home cleaner despite the messes.

Ms. Wiener has been there and I found the tone of the book engaging, much like I was hearing advice from a dear friend (one who really knows how to decorate!)

SLOB PROOF covers the bases on every room in your home from floor to ceiling.  The before and after pictures are inspiring as well as practical.

I haven’t had time to implement a lot of the solutions in my own home yet, but I will certainly be referencing this book over and over.  Of particular interest to me is the detailed analysis of fabrics and products covered in the book.  It’s great to know things like what rug fabrics wear best and what lighting options are best for each room, not just for their effectiveness, but durability.

This is the type of book I would have loved to have had on hand before we moved into our home, but it will be easy enough to make the modifications suggested over time.

Ms. Wiener also appealed to my frugal side by creating shopping lists for suggested products and detailing price-effective solutions.

Overall, I recommend this book for anyone who has a slob co-habiting their home, pet owners, new home buyers, and those looking to remodel.
