Antique it!

A great way to turn any piece of lack luster furniture into a stunner is to antique it! It’s pretty simple to do as well as a budget friendly alternative to buying true antiques.  The first step is to prime the piece with an oil based primer. Once dry, mix together glaze and dark brown paint (one part brown to 3 parts glaze). The dark brown will be key in making the antiquing look genuine. Spread the glaze generously over your piece and immediately wipe it off with a cheesecloth or a rag. The rag will leave more of a streaked effect while the cheesecloth will be a smoother finish. To accentuate the architectural features of the furniture brush the glaze into all of the crevices and corners, this will ensure that it looks authentic!
